DARK SKY LAND is an under development Environmental Film Series and a Multipart Transdisciplinary Project about a Night Sky Conservation Movement with the same title. It takes place in a landscape of natural darkness, with an insightful look at the hidden impact of light pollution’s existential threat to astronomy, human health, New Mexico cultural heritage, the environment, and wildlife. A story about a time on earth when looking deeper into the cosmic past seems purposely interrupted by light pollution. Dark Sky Land is in one of the darkest regions in the Northern hemisphere, it is a breathtaking and intriguing voyage into the cosmos and the natural world. The proximity to the center of an ancient Astro-archeological world, Chaco Canyon, is an inspiration to engage disparate New Mexico communities cosmologies.
New Mexico's Native Culture - Arts and Science Collaborations.
