DARK SKY LAND is a documentary film about an environmental night sky conservation movement with the same title. It takes place in a landscape of natural darkness, with an insightful look at the hidden impact of light pollution’s existential threat to astronomy, human health, the environment, and wildlife. A story about a time on earth when looking deeper into the cosmic past seems purposely interrupted by light pollution. Dark Sky Land is in one of the darkest regions in the Northern hemisphere, it is a breathtaking and intriguing voyage into the cosmos and the natural world. The proximity to the center of an ancient Astro-archeological world, Chaco Canyon, is an inspiration to engage disparate communities with the Ancestral Pueblo and Zuni peoples’ cosmologies and homeland. An interstellar archive of night sky ecology, human and wildlife preservation in an era of planetary catastrophes.
